A: For many reasons. 1) In this industry the financial stakes are very high, so the companies look for already experienced staff and don't announce vacancies to the large public. They prefer to get references. 2) The education system doesn't produce graduates with practical experience because clinical placement to acquire real hands-on experience is non-existent - the liability insurance against professional errors and omissions is extremely expensive (over 4000$) or simply unavailable for inexperienced staff. 3) Companies avoid investing in such expensive training as graduates are mobile and constantly solocitated by recruiters. With the high shortage of qualified staff, they don't stay long in the same company. 4) The CRAs themselves have no interest to promote their profession as it will bring new competitors and reduce the shortage of qualified CRAs and the level of the salaries. Only a large network of contacts allows to learn in time about the open positions and this is an important part of our training. Companies don't consider as relevant in-house work with documentation without monitoring. Our eCRO allows to get real experience on all CRA tasks, which are not available in usual placements.
Q: What is the difference of this program to others?
A: Our program entails both education and job placement assistance. It combines on-line training with plenty of practical advises and tips that other courses don't give in order to make the students 100% functional from the 1st day of hiring, up to 10 months in-house CRA-I work in our unique eCRO to get 'hands-on' experience with EDC and remote Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), possibilities
for co-op placement for qualified students, industry specific
job search training, CV and interview preparation, extensive job
placement assistance and free mentoring even after hiring. No other
provider offers such support. Students support is 7/7 till 11:30 P.M. E.S.T.
Q:What is your Job Placement
Assistance Program?
A:
It includes a preparation of a generic, industry-adapted CV with the use of the specific clinical research abbreviations,
terminology and jargon, initiation on pre-selection
questionnaires & job-specific questions with suggestions how to
answer them, common interview traps to avoid, coaching and analysis of interviews, initiation and assistance in the creation of a large network of contacts and aggressive distribution of students' CVs to recruiters and hiring companies, job notifications etc. As we do not require any fee
from employers for any placement, this is a major incentive for them to prefer our
graduates.
Q:What is your Mentoring Program?
A: Every student has a mentor, who provides 7/7 support by email or Skype. We answer questions usually immediately or within an hour, latest in 24 hours. This support does notend with the termination of of the training but continues during your job search and even after hiring, i.e. you can contact your mentor for free consultations on complicated issues even during the first 2 months after you started your first job. (After 2 months the consultations are still provided, but will be charged). This unique service is meant to reduce the new hire stress and preserve your face in your new job.
